Father James Dalton-Thompson came to S. Mary's for Advent 2005. We have been truly blessed with his presence among us.
June 18th marked the 25th year of his ordination.
On the Occasion of the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of the Ordination of James Dalton-Thompson
O, God, most merciful Father, we praise you for sending your Son Jesus Christ, who took on himself the form of a servant and humbled himself, becoming obedient even to death on the cross. We praise you that you have highly exalted him and made him Lord of all and that, through him, we know that whoever would be great must be servant of all. We praise you for the many ministries in your Church, and we give special thanks this night for calling James, our priest, to your service.
On this, the 25th anniversary of James' ordination, hear our prayers for him. Send down upon James the healthful Spirit of thy grace, that he may truly please you. Pour upon him the continual dew of your blessing. Fashion his life according to the example of your son. Continue to fill him with faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, and godliness. Strengthen him when he stands; comfort him when discouraged or sorrowful; raise him up if he falls, and in his heart may your peace which passes all understanding abide all the days of his life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
