Saint Mary's is part of the Diocese of Maine.Our lead Pastors are the Bishops of Maine, Bishop Chilton Knudsen and Bishop Stephen Lane, and we live our lives in communion with the other congregations in the Diocese, with the National Episcopal church, and with the worldwide churches of the Anglican Communion.At the parish level, our leadership is a combination of clergy and laypeople. Saint Mary's is very fortunate to have as its Rector, the the spiritual leader of the parish, Father James P. Dalton-Thompson. Father James is assisted by Deacon Christine Bennett.Lay leadership is vested in the Vestry, whose members are elected by the parish at the Annual Meeting in January. The Governing body of the Parish, the Vestry, shall be comprised of the Rector, two Wardens, Treasurer and twelve Vestry members. The two Wardens shall be elected by ballot at the Annual Meeting for a term of two years; each Warden may serve six years in three consecutive two year terms. The Treasurer shall be elected by ballot at the Annual Meeting for a term of one year. Vestry members shall be elected by ballot at each annual meeting. No Vestry member shall serve more then one three-year term unless that Vestry member has taken at least one year off. It shall be the duty of the Vestry to manage the affairs and to care for the property of the Parish, and to supervise and direct the officers, excepting the Rector, in the discharge of their duties. Their records shall be open to the examination of members of the Parish.
